Everyday we wake up in the morning weather it be to get up and go to work, school, run, get on our bikes, take the dog for a walk, get the kids ready for school, etc. Some mornings we spring out of bed others we drag ass, some mornings we crawl back in bed and put the covers over our heads and hug our pillows. So I ask you what's it all for? This morning I woke up and thought about my friend Pam, today has been 4 weeks that she passed. I thought how lucky I am to have one more day with my friends and family. I am so blessed to have completed a 10 mile run on Saturday, a 10 mile mile bike ride with my hubby on Sunday. To me getting up in the morning may not always be easy but it is one more day. One more day that I am lucky to live.
Training has been going well, I am about 4 weeks from 10 for Texas, 5 weeks from my first tri, 13 weeks from Dallas White Rock half and about 18 weeks from Houston Marathon. What a great few months I have a head of me.
Hope to see you on the roads!

That is a good reminder to appreciate every day that we have.
Today is just a day. It may be a good day, it may be a bad day, either way I treat it with the respect it deserves for tomorrow can never be counted on.
Nice post and way to reflect on your friend. Seems like you have some great memories of her-keep those to remember out on those LONG runs!
It's often easier to see the bad than the good we take for granted and always expect to be there. You are wise to count your blessings while you have them, just try to keep that good balance between present and future.
I am sure Pam would be honored to know how much you miss her and still hurt for her loss.
it's unfortunate that we start appreciating these things more when we lose someone/something special... so glad your training is going well, and as my son is doing his first tri this weekend for his dad that he also recently lost, you can honor Pam with your upcoming races... she'll be there with you.
