Low

Yesterday I was feeling very low, about as low as I have felt in the last three years since I started training for half marathon, marathons and now triathlons. Yes I love training and yes I love the sport, there are just so many small scarifies. I have missed out on family dinners and outings, Logan's golf tournaments, various birthdays, going away parties only to name a few. I have not cleaned my own house in months, I have not been to the grocery store in at least a month. So by yesterday it all hit me, I was feeling like the worst wife, daughter, granddaughter and friend. Feeling this way I called up a friend because I know from conversations with her that she too has felt like this at times. She assured me that this was normal to feel like this and that this was only temporary. Thank you my friend for making me feel better.

Hope to see you on the roads soon!

Hang in there. The feeling is definitely normal and I think we're all there right now feeling this way.

Our families make the biggest sacrifice of our training schedules! I haven't cleaned my house in years-It seems I'm never home anyways!
For all the boys do for me, I try and give them a day or weekend for all of us to do something that doesn't include a race of any kind! Seems to keep them happy!

Sorry you hit a rough spot like that. Although I'm not the best to advise, you can use this as just a moment to "check in" with where you are, want to be, and how to balance things.

The lifestyle is tough, but rewarding. I know I have to write myself notes to make sure and do things in heavy training! (of course I've never done the 70.31!)

Cheers!

It's a tough place to be in and I feel for you. Hopefully you'll run, jump and swim out of it soon. Be kind to yourself and look for the things you do well or that are going well.

I agree that the feeling is just temporary, I feel the same way too during my first months of training...
